Chinese literature
Search entry points for Chinese academic resources and their current availability
Introduction
Ai4Scholar can include Chinese resources in your search workflow, but available entry points and coverage depend on the current deployment, upstream services, and page configuration. Chinese results usually include metadata such as title, authors, source, and date. Details and full-text capabilities depend on what each result card actually displays.
Current entry points
The unified literature search page currently offers five data source tabs: Semantic Scholar, Full-text search, Google Scholar, PubMed, and Google Patents. Chinese resources do not have a fixed, separate tab. If no Chinese resource entry point appears on the current page, follow the interface as displayed and administrator announcements. The legacy AMiner / CNKI pages are compatibility entry points and may redirect to the unified search page.
Data coverage
- Journals, theses, and conference materials — Specific publication types depend on the current data source's results
- Chinese metadata — Fields such as title, authors, source, and date
- Disciplines — Determined by search results and the current data source description; coverage of a fixed catalog is not guaranteed
Use cases
- Reviews of Chinese literature in fields such as education, traditional Chinese medicine, and traditional crafts
- Research into the state of a field in China
- Policy research and interpretation
- Cross-language searches: first search Chinese sources for the domestic landscape, then use Semantic Scholar / PubMed for international research
Billing
The price per search and available allowances are shown in the current tool prompts and account usage details. Tools and platform models share account credits. Custom models do not waive platform tool charges. See Credits and plans for billing rules.
Search suggestions
Start by describing your research topic in natural language or keywords, then narrow the search using the fields, years, and sorting options offered by the current entry point. Query syntax is not interchangeable across sources. Do not assume a field or Boolean expression is supported unless the page explicitly says so.
Sorting, pagination, citation counts, downloads, and other result fields depend on the current data source. Do not simply add counts from different sources together.
How it complements other sources
- Semantic Scholar / PubMed / Google Scholar can supplement international academic resources
- Chinese resources are often better suited to topics such as domestic policy, education, culture, and clinical practice. Combine sources according to your research question and record their names
FAQ
Why can't I find some articles? Chinese resource indexes and upstream services may have delays, and very recent or older articles may be temporarily unavailable. Try synonyms, author names, or fragments of the title, and cross-check with other sources.
Can I download the full text directly? Whether a result provides an abstract or full text depends on the current data source. To download a paper, try finding an open-access version through Paper download, or use your institution's subscription access.
