Platform Overview
Connect literature search, reading, writing, drawing, and presentations through research conversations, then organize them into projects as needed
What Ai4Scholar can do
Ai4Scholar is a platform for research work. You can search for papers and parse PDFs directly, or ask a question in research mode and let the conversation work with your selected materials and available tools.
| Goal | Entry point | Typical result |
|---|---|---|
| Find papers | Literature Search | A list of candidate papers with sources |
| Read papers | Toolbox → Document Parsing | Markdown full text, references, and reading notes |
| Organize evidence | Research conversation | Comparison tables, research outlines, and answers with sources |
| Write and cite | Writing Editor, Citation Annotation, Reference Completion | Draft text and verifiable citations |
| Create illustrations | Scientific Drawing, Image Vectorization | Images and the vector formats currently available for download |
| Prepare a presentation | Paper to Presentation | An outline, slide previews, and a PPTX file |
| Connect other apps | Open API, MCP, Zotero, Dify, OpenClaw | Platform tools in your own client |
Conversations, projects, and personal space
A conversation records the questions, answers, and files for a research task. Click “New Conversation” to start; you do not need to create a project first.
A project organizes conversations and materials on the same topic. You can choose a project before sending a new conversation. Once created, a conversation keeps its original project association; a standalone conversation is not automatically moved into a project when you browse that project.
Personal Space brings your existing files together for filtering by category and project, searching, previewing, and archiving. PDF parsing records can be saved independently and later reused through “Add to Project Materials” or “Use in Conversation.”

Choose literature sources
Semantic Scholar is useful for multidisciplinary search and citation networks; PubMed is suited to biomedical research; Google Scholar can supplement results from other sources; and Google Patents is for patent search. Full-text search looks up passages from papers whose full text has been indexed.
Coverage, fields, and filters vary by source. To cross-check results, search sources separately and preserve their provenance. See Cross-checking Multiple Data Sources.
Start using the platform
Complete a small task with Quick Start, then use projects and individual tools as needed. The interface for your account shows whether research mode, models, and tools are currently available.
