Full-Text Search
Find research topics and key phrases in indexed passages from papers
Overview
Full-text search queries papers whose full text has been indexed. It returns matching passages from titles, abstracts, or the body and highlights the matching locations. Unlike ordinary title or abstract search, it is useful for finding concepts, methods, and constraints mentioned in the body of a paper.
Each search uses one data source. To change sources, switch to the corresponding tab on the search page and search again. Whether a paper can be found depends on whether its full text has been indexed.
Index coverage
Full-text search queries the paper index currently available to the platform and returns title, abstract, or body passages. It does not aggregate the PubMed, Google Scholar, or other tabs. To use another source, switch to that tab and search again. Index coverage and available fields change as the underlying data is updated.
Search tips
Basic search
Select Full-Text Search and enter keywords to search indexed passages. Switch to other sources afterward if you need to cross-check the results:
machine learning for drug discovery
Exact phrase search
Enclose a phrase in quotation marks for an exact match:
"graph neural network" protein folding
Use filters
The search page offers filters appropriate to each source. Full-text search currently supports a year range and result filters such as citation count, journal, and research field. Check the current filter panel for the specific fields and options available.
Manage results
- Save in batches — Select several results and save them as a literature list.
- Cite a single result — Copy BibTeX, APA, MLA, or Chicago from the result's action menu.
- Project management — Add papers to a research project to organize them.
- Citation formats — Add results to project or conversation materials. Available export formats are shown in the current result's action menu.
